How you get in
Entry advice. THE COMMITMENT, NOT THE QUALIFIER, IS THE BARRIER. No qualifying standard whatsoever for 1,000 miles in 37 consecutive days.
Time off work: 37 days, 28 May to 3 July 2027, plus a pre-event admin day in Cornwall the afternoon before.
Cost: between £9,500 and £10,975 depending which of the organiser's three websites you read, plus a 2.99% booking fee. Interest-free monthly instalments, no deposit published. Non-refundable in cash.
INCLUDED: 35 or 36 nights' accommodation, all meals, daily pit stops, support vehicles, guides, event doctor and physio, laundry, satellite tracker, a GPS device preloaded with the route, transfers from Penzance and to Inverness, and free entry to The Wall Ultra.
NOT INCLUDED: travel to Cornwall and home from Inverness, compulsory travel insurance with evacuation cover, and single rooms. THERE IS NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENT: solo entrants are paired into same-sex twins and communal bunkhouses are possible.
Cut-offs are described only as 'very generous', with no numeric per-stage or overall limit published. Sweeper vehicles pick up anyone who cannot continue, and you can reduce daily distance with support, but you cannot skip a section.
No single-stage, single-week or single-section entry exists: the full 1,000 miles is the only product.

- No deferral scheme: deferral is handled as a transfer to credit. Entries over £500 can be transferred up to 12 weeks before the start for a 5% fee, no justification needed, issuing a credit voucher valid 12 months. Outside that window it drops to a 50% credit voucher. Rat Race DO NOT OFFER CASH REFUNDS. The only routes to money back are the optional Refund Protect insurance or the charity rebate: raise £5,000 for Children with Cancer UK and £2,500 is refunded, raise £10,000 and £5,000 is refunded.
